The transmitter sends a radio signal through a buried boundary wire to your dog's receiver collar. As your dog approaches the boundary, the collar gives a warning beep. If they keep going, it gives a safe but startling static correction, like the static you feel after dragging your feet across a carpet and touching a door handle.

How to Train Your Dog

Spend time training consistently so your dog learns where the new boundary is. PetSafe recommends this fence for dogs aged 6 months and older. A puppy should respond reliably to basic commands such as sit and come before starting with any static correction collar. Training takes about 2 weeks, and it can take around a month before your dog can safely roam the area on their own.

Can I use it for my cat?
Yes, if your cat weighs 2.3 kg (5 lb) or more and the collar fits comfortably.
